Think your favorite product is empty? Think again!

Did you know that makeup companies package and design their products so you are less likely to use up all of it? Don’t let them fool you!

Get more bang for your buck by simply depotting your so-called “empty” containers and you’ll be surprised at how much product is actually left over, stuck in corners, or around the nozzle opening.

Here, I’ve demonstrated how to depot on my holy grail of primers: Benefit Porefessional Face Primer. I used as much primer as I could until I was unable to squeeze anymore out. Then, I took a pair of scissors and chopped it right in half and… Voila! It’s very easy to do and best of all, you have at least another week or two worth of product still left!

Some containers may not be suitable to depot, more specifically with most foundations, but popular products that you can depot are products with soft containers like lip gloss/ lip stick tubes, Urban Decay Primer Potion, concealers are more!

Just scoop out the remaining product using a cosmetic spatula or something disposable like a Q-tip or simply store it in a plastic Ziplock bag without the mess. This is a must since it prevents the product from drying out from being exposed to open air. Alternatively, you can also store it in any empty twist-off containers you have from old makeup (I like to keep glass containers from different foundations sometimes to store lotions and the like in) or beauty/travel sized jars.
