Maybelline Fit Me! Matte + Poreless Foundation [REVIEW]

Hi, guys! So this will be my first makeup review on this blog. Enjoy!

So I recently got the chance to pick up Maybelline’s fairly new "Fit Me Matte + Poreless" foundation. I have oily/combo skin so when I saw this, I knew I had to try it! The foundation claims to “erase pores and absorb oil for a naturally matte and poreless-looking finish.”

It comes in your standard shaped, 1 fl. oz. glass foundation bottle and in a variety of colors going from very fair to deep and also comes in different undertones as well (both yellow and pink, I’m a yellow undertone). Nothing worse than getting that “ghost face” look!

It’s very creamy but not so creamy that it’ll feel caked on. It also felt strange moisturizing and not necessarily dry like other foundations when I applied it (let me know if this was just me!). It warms up very quickly on the skin so it’s super easy to blend in once you put it on.

I always suggest moisturizing before any makeup application, no matter how oily or combo your skin is. Moisturizing helps prevent wrinkles, flaking, and fine lines. I originally purchased Classic Ivory (120) and it was way too light for me. I suggest going one or two shades than what you normally are and you’ll get a decent match. I ended up exchanging it for Warm Nude (128) just because I personally like to wear my foundation about 1-2 shades darker (My face tends to not tan as much as the rest of my body. Probably from all the SPF in my skin products).

As for the application, it went on very smoothly and I applied it using my It Cosmetics “Heavenly Luxe Flat Top Buffing Foundation Brush” #6. I would suggest using a dense foundation brush so you don’t get streaks. You could also use your fingers as well to help warm up the product. I put it directly on the top of my #6 and start stippling the biggest areas such as at the forehead, cheeks and chin after moisturizing and priming. Then, in circular motions I start to blend the product from the outer parts of my face (jaw line, near the ears) working towards the inner parts of my face (top of my cheeks and brows, nose). After, I applied my concealer, bronzer, and the rest of my face makeup and set everything with Ben Nye Bella Luxury Powder in Banana (this is the same one that Kim K. uses as well to highlight!).

I’ve worn this foundation a few times already and it has stayed fairly matte despite having oily skin. I would say it works better than some of my other high end foundations like the Make Up For Ever Mat Velvet + Mattifying Foundation. Although the MUFE does give me that super matte, crisp foundation look, it does tend to cake up near my nostrils and my smile lines throughout a few hours of wear, even with printer underneath. However the Maybelline stays put for the most part. I didn’t experience too much fading anywhere, just a few loose powder touch ups in the typical spots like my t-zone and areas near my nose.

Love it! It’s a great foundation, especially for the price and you can get that high end, matte look without the splurge! It runs for about $8-$10 depending on your location so it’s very reasonable. Also, if you like the foundation, Maybelline has other Fit Me! products in the line such as powders, concealers, blush, etc. and even a dewy version of the foundation if you’re into that Kim K.-esque glow or have dry skin.
